What’s on the Director’s Mind?

Mr Dereck Springer, MPH, Director of PANCAP

I wish to urge all PANCAP members including NAP Managers, Chief Medical Officers, Permanent Secretaries, Civil Society, Regional and Development Partners to complete the PANCAP Assessment Survey which was distributed in July. The assessment is part of a review of PANCAP being conducted by a consultant, Ms Sarah Insanally on behalf of the Executive Board.  The Executive Board agreed that there is a need to examine and evaluate the PANCAP model, to assess its contributions/achievements, strengths and weaknesses and to determine if aspects of the model might be applicable to the broader health challenges facing the region. The findings of this review would be used to inform the COHSOD and CARICOM Heads of Governments’ decision on the way forward for PANCAP.

The survey requires about five (5) minutes of your time and can be easily accessed via the following links:

This is an exciting time for PANCAP as we usher in a new phase of knowledge sharing with the launch of the redesigned PANCAP website. The launch was a resounding success and I wish to express gratitude to Hon. Nicolette Henry, Minister of Education (Guyana) and Chair of the PANCAP RCM, Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Soeknandan and Mr Mark Oviatt,  Principal Officer, USAID, Guyana and Suriname for their inspiring words during the launch.

I encourage all PANCAP members and partners to make full use of the redesigned website, particularly the Document Library which allows partners to upload and share case studies and best practices with the Partnership.  Make the site your ‘homepage’ and be sure to visit often.
